23 Oct CATWALK ON THE WATER
Marimekko Spring 2012 fashion show was held this week. I was impressed by the catwalk itself. At first the floor looked like a shining black surface, not a very Marimekkoish choice, maybe. Only when the models started to walk barefooted, you realized it was actually a shallow pool of water. Beautiful fresh pictures of summer scenery were projected on the walls. Music was as dreamlike as the the whole atmosphere. I miss summer already….
Marimekon Kevät 2012 -näytös pidettiin tällä viikolla. Lavaste toimi hienosti. Ennen näytöstä ihmettelin mustaa kiiltävää lattiaa, joka ei tuntunut sopivan Marimekko-henkeen. Kun paljasjalkaiset mallit kävelivät lavalle paljastui että, lattia olikin matala vesiallas. Seinillä vaihtuivat raikkaan kesäiset maisemakuvat ja musiikki oli yhtä unenomaista kuin koko tunnelma.
